Light fixture on ceiling with auditorium sign on wall.

This year, Hockinson School District received a $3,500 rebate from Clark Public Utilities’ Strategic Energy Management Program for an LED hallway lighting retrofit at Hockinson High School. The project replaced aging fluorescent fixtures with energy-efficient LED lighting in hallways near the auditorium, gymnasium, and music rooms, improving visibility, safety, and reliability while also reducing long-term electricity use and operating costs.

This project is one example of HSD’s long-standing partnership with Clark Public Utilities. Combined with grants, initiatives, and rebates from Clark Public Utilities and the Washington State Department of Commerce, the district has received more than $1 million in energy-efficiency project support since 2021. By leveraging these partnerships, Hockinson School District continues to stretch local dollars, reinvest savings into future improvements, and maintain safe, well-lit, and welcoming learning environments for students and staff.
