Congratulations to HHS Junior Georgina Romero, who placed 5th in the 100m freestyle (56.24) and 6th in the 50m freestyle (25.43) at the WIAA 2A Swim Meet this weekend.
Romero, who last week won 2A District Swim Titles in the 50 freestyle (25.63 seconds) and 100 freestyle (56.05), has been recognized for her accomplishments this season, including Swimmer of the Meet at the Nov. 8 2A District Swim Meet and The Columbian's Athlete of the Week.
The HHS Swim Program received another honor at the State Meet. Michelle Jacobs-Brown was named the 2A/1A Coach of the Year by the Washington State Swim Coaches Association. Jacobs-Brown is the Head Coach of the Hockinson Cooperative Swim Program, which serves six other area high schools.
