The negotiating teams are back to mediation after working until 2 this morning. Both the district and teachers union are committed to working hard today in an effort to reach agreement.
With the first day of school scheduled to begin less than 24 hours from now, we understand that families need to finalize their plans for Wednesday.
The district will send an email and voice call by 5 p.m. at the latest—earlier if possible.
The District appreciates the hard work of members of both negotiating teams and extends its thanks to its entire staff, and students and families for their patience at this difficult time.
Families of Hockinson students are encouraged to have alternative plans in place, in case a work stoppage delays the start of the 2018-19 school year. Sports practices for Hockinson High School and Middle School teams will continue as scheduled.
