Joshua BrownSilva has joined Hockinson School District as its new nutrition director with Chartwells food service.
BrownSilva has worked as an executive chef and a director of dining services for a variety of institutions, including corporate dining facilities, a hotel/convention center and retirement communities.
He says an introduction to professional cooking while in elementary school ignited his passion for food, and in high school he earned a scholarship from the Culinary Olympics. BrownSilva studied culinary arts at California Culinary Academy, and restaurant management at Santa Barbara City College.
Hockinson School District is thankful to Colleen O’Brien for her leadership in our food service, and we wish her the best as she pursues her goal to become a registered dietician!
