Hockinson School District congratulates Assistant Superintendent Slade McSheehy on his acceptance of the position of superintendent at Vashon Island School District. He will begin his new position July 1.
McSheehy served as principal at Hockinson Middle School from 2012 to 2015 and as assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction from 2015 to 2018.
While in Hockinson, McSheehy oversaw the adoption of numerous curricula that brought the district’s instructional offerings in line with recently adopted Common Core State Standards.
“Hockinson is not an easy place to leave,” McSheehy said. “I am thankful to have had the opportunity to work with the district’s many talented staff members and its enthusiastic students, and for its supportive community.”
