Greg Gospe
Title: Vice-Chair

1. Tell us a little bit about yourself.

“My family and I moved to Hockinson in 1997, and I was first elected to the school board in November 2003. I have been actively involved in a range of roles in my career, most of which have been with life science firms focused on marketing, selling, and securing health plan coverage for treatments and diagnostics for a range of diseases. I have also worked for about seven years marketing/selling real estate in Washington and Oregon. My knowledge in real estate provides a valuable perspective to the district as we grow and will eventually need to acquire land for future schools. It also enables me to have a unique perspective on the local market and the interest in our school district.”

2. What drives your passion for education and for serving on the HSD Board?

“My passion for serving on the Hockinson School Board comes indirectly from genetics (as my maternal grandfather served the Spokane School District for nearly 30 years) as well as my desire to give back to the community. I enjoy sharing my time and experience helping to make sure that the school district is well-run, that resources are used wisely, and that all of our students have an outstanding educational experience.”

3. What contribution to HSD schools are you most proud of?

“I am very proud to have been a major team contributor to the final building and opening of Hockinson High School as well as the rebuilding of Hockinson Middle School. I believe that both of those campus upgrades have had a very positive impact on our community.”

4. What about the Hockinson community inspires you?

“Being actively involved with a small, student-focused district and in the educational process in Hockinson for 17 years. I have witnessed the successful growth and transition of our students through our schools into college and eventually the workplace. I have also been fortunate enough to have all four of my children graduate, the last of whom graduated in 2017.”
